Guided Surgery: The New Practice Standard for Oral Implantology

Guided surgery for implant placement is not a new concept in implant dentistry. Restoratively driven implant placement is a well-accepted and often quoted dogma, when clinicians consider implant positioning. However, guided surgery, which I believe to be the apogee of restoratively driven implant planning and placement still struggles to find wide scale acceptance.

In this presentation, I will put forward the case for computer guided surgery. Discussing the benefits of planning your surgery virtually before going to the patient’s mouth and the clinical advantages of guided surgery. Before looking to the future and how this fast-evolving technology may look.
